The charming City of Prescott, Arizona, which was founded in 1863 and was once the territorial capitol of Arizona is located approximately 90 miles from both Phoenix, AZ and Flagstaff, AZ.  Although Prescott exudes small town charm, it offers all of the amenities of a big city, such as medical care including the highly ranked Yavapai Regional Medical Center hospital and one VA medical facility, schools, colleges, shopping, and entertainment.

Prescott plays host to many annual events such as the week-long festivities of the "World's Oldest Rodeo" Frontier Days, featuring a parade, rodeo events, and street dances.

IMG_4122.JPGKeeping busy is not a problem in Prescott.  You can join the locals on summer nights sitting on the Prescott Courthouse lawn listening to free concerts or browsing the craft shows, or dining at one the many restaurants that have become local favorites. You might hang out at one of the historic saloons along Whiskey Row or catch a play at the Prescott Fine Arts Association.

The mild four season arid high desert climate makes outdoor activities including golf possible all year round.  There are over 20 recreational facilities in the Prescott National Forest within a few miles of town.   Picnicking, camping, fishing, hiking, backpacking, are easily accessible. The Prescott National Forest offers 450 miles of trails among acres of ponderosa pines.

Golfing in Prescott AZThe Prescott Gateway mall is a great place for indoor shopping. You'll also enjoy shopping in the many stores and boutiques that surround the Prescott Courthouse Square.  There are many local museums and art galleries where you can relax and learn about the local history and our artisans.

We love the small town feeling here in Prescott, but when we yearn for big city lights, Phoenix is just about 96 miles southeast of Prescott.  It is an easy hour and half drive that makes day trips no problem.  If you need to get to Phoenix even quicker, you can take advantage of daily flights via Mesa Air from Prescott Municipal Airport.  Rumor has it that daily flights to Las Vegas will also be offered in the near future.
